Zilhajj,
the 12th and last month of Islamic calender is
the month of blessings, honour and glory.
Ashaab-e-saleheen and Tabe’een were used to make great
arrangements for Ibaadat in it. Holy Quran has described
the Ist ten days of this month as Ayyaam-maloomaat
Some aamaal of
these Ist ten days are as under:
ó
offering two rakaat prayer between Maghrib and Esha
daily and in each rakat after sura al-Hamd and
Sura-Tauheed following Aaya is to be recited:
“We
promised Musa thirty nights, to which we added ten nights
more so that the appointment with his lord took forty
nights and Musa said to his brother Haroon: ‘take my
place among my people and do correct them and don’t
follow the path of the wrong doers”.
So he be
joined in the reward of pilgrims
ó
pronounce those TEHLILAAT ten times daily which
have been reported from Ali-Ibne Abi Talib (A.S) and these
are as follows:
On the
Ist day of this month Hazrat Fatima-tuz-zahra (A.S),
the daughter of Holy Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H and his aal)
Syeda-tun-nisa-el aalameen was got married to Imam-ul-muttaqeen,
Ameer-ul-momeneen Hazrat Ali (A.S). Keeping fast in this
blessed day is equal to the fast of 80 months in reward.
5th
of this month is the day when great companion (sahabi)
of Holy Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H and his Aal), Hazrat Abu
Zer Ghaffari, in praise of whom the 17th verse
of Sura-e-Zumer
“Let
those rejoice who keep themselves off from idol worship
and turn to Allah in repentance. Give good news (of Jannat)
to my servants”.
was revealed,
died in the place of RABZA to where he was exiled.
Imam
Baqir-ul-uloom (A.S), the son of Imam Zain-ul-Abedeen
bin Hussain bin Ali ibne Abi Talib (A.S) and Hazrat
Fatimah daughter of Imam Hasan bin Ali Ibne Abi Talib (A.S),
was martyred in Madina Munawwara on 7th of
Zilhajj in the year 114 A.H. At that time be was 57 years
of age. His (A.S) Holy grave is situated in Janna-tul-Baqee
which had been demolished ruthlessly on 8th
Shawwal in 1926 by Aal-e-Sa’ud. Imam Baqer-ul-uloom
(A.S) was of 5 years of age at the time of
Waqe’a-e-Karbala (incident of Karbala).
Tehreek-e-Nafaz-e-Fiqh-e-Jafariya (TNFJ) observes this
grievous day as Youm-e-Gham (mourning day)
throughout the country. Ziarat-e-Jamia should be recited
in this day.

Zilhajj is Youm-e-Tarwiya. To keep fast and take
bath in this day is desirable (mustahab)
This (8
Zilhajj) is also the day when Imam Hussain (A.S) converted
his (A.S) Pilgrimage (Hajj) into off-seasonal Pilgrimage (Umra)
and started his (A.S) journey from Makkah towards Iraq so
to save the sanctity and honour of this sacred place (ka’aba).In
this way heinous conspiracy of Bannu Umayyad to trample
the sanctity and honour of Ka’aba by shedding blood
there, had been failed
The
night between 8 and 9 Zilhajj is a blessed night
and called shab-e-Arafah (night of Arafah). Holy Prophet
Muhammad (P.B.U.H and his Aal) said: “your dua’as
(prayers) are fulfilled and repentance is accepted in this
night.” He who spends this night in Ibaadat will be
given the reward of 170 years of Ibaadat. To take bath and
recite Ziarat-e-Imam Hussain (A.S) are sunnat-e-Muakkada
in this night.
9th day
of Zilhajj is Roz-e-Arafah (day of Arafah). The
best amal (deed) in this day is dua’a. following are
some aamaal of this day as described in books of dua’as:
ó
To take bath;
ó
To recite Ziarat-e-Imam Hussain (A.S) it has great
fazeelat and reward as compared to thousand pilgrimages
(Hajj), thousand off-seasonal pilgrimages (umras) and
thousand Holy wars (Jehad);
ó
To keep fast;
ó
To recite 47th dua’a of
sahifa-e-Kamela and dua’a-e-Imam Hussain (A.S) for
youm-e-arafah after asar prayer (mafateehul Jinan may be
consulted for ziarat and dua’a)
In
the same day (9th of Zilhajj) Hazrat Muslim bin
Aqeel (A.S) was martyred in the year 60 A.H in the
city of koufa where he was sent by Imam Hussain (A.S) as
His (Imam) envoy to look closely the situation before
Imam’s arrival there. TNFJ observes this day as “Youm-e-Safeer-e-Aal-Muhammad”
(the day of the envoy of Aal-e-Muhammad) throughout the
country.
The
night between 9 and 10 of this month is one of
those four glorious nights in which cease to sleep and
Ibaadat are desirable (mustahab) and doors of heaven
remain open. Recitation of Ziarat-e-Imam Hussain (A.S) and
following Dua’a are sunnat:
“O whose
mercy and grace upon creatures is eternal, o who grants
abundantly, o the generous invoke your blessings on the
Holy Prophet Muhammad (P.b.U.H) and his pure and sin less
offspring (Aal) who are the best creatures in disposition,
o who is immense one forgive me in this night.”
Eid-ul-
Azha is to be celeberated on 10th of Zilhajj.
Some of this day’s aamaal are as follows:
ó
To take bath, as it is sunnat-e-muakkada;
ó
To offer eid prayer;
ó
To wear new clothes;
ó
To recite Dua’a-e-Nudba;
ó
To sacrifice (animal) which is sunnat-e-muakkada;
sacrifice may be done on 10, 11,12 Zilhajj and during
pilgrimage (Hajj) also on 13 zilhajj. The meat ought to be
divided in three equal parts: One for the poors (fuqara
and masakeen) 2nd for the neighbours and 3rd
for him and his family. If a person wants to sacrifice
camel or cow then it should be female but if he is
interested in sheep or goat then it should be male. If one
couldn’t make arrangements for sacrifice (animal) the 7
persons even 70 are allowed to put their share in one
sacrifice;
ó
To pronounce following TAKBIRAAT after each prayer
from salat-e-zuhr (zuhr prayer) on eid day till
salat-e-Fajr (fajr prayer) on eid day till salat-e-Fajr (fajr
prayer) on 12th zilhajj but for those who are
in MINA till fajr prayer on 13th.
“Allah
is great Allah is great, There is no God but Allah and
Allah is great, Allah is great and praise is for Allah,
Allah is great for He guided us. Allah is great for He has
made cattles our subsistence and praise is for Allah for
He examined us”.
18th
day of this month is Eid-e-Ghadeer. It is the eid
of Aal-e-Muhammad (A.S) and is known as Eid-e-Mo’ud in
the heavens it is reported that people asked Imam
Jafar-e-Sadiq (A.S). “Is there any Eid for a Muslim
other than Friday, Eid-ul-Fitr and Eid-ul-Azha”? He (A.S)
replied: “yes, there is an eid which bears great status
among these three eids”. People again questioned:
“which one is that Eid?. “Imam answered:” that is
Eid-e-Ghadeer, it is the day when Holy Prophet Muhammad (P.b.U.H
and his Aal) appointed Hazrat Ali ibne Abi Talib (A.S) His
(P.b.U.H and His Aal) successor in GHADEER-E-KHUM after
revelation of 67th aayah of Sura-e-Ma’eda
(Table):
“O
Apostle, proclaim what is revealed to you from your Lord,
if you don’t, you will not have conveyed his message”.
By saying:
“Ali (A.S)
is mula (master) of all those, of whom I am master”.
And after
this proclamation 3rd verse of sura-e-Ma’eda
(table) was revealed:
“This
day I have perfected your religion for you and completed
my favour to you. I have chosen Islam to be your faith (deen).
A Hadith of
Imam Raza (A.S) goes : Allah forgives sins of 60 years of
every momin and momenah in this day. So whow kindness to
your brothers in Islam and make them please.
Following
are some aamaal of the day:
ó
Keeping fast; as it is equal to hundred pilgrimages
(Hajj) and hundred off-seasonal pilgrimages (Umraas) in
reward.
ó
Take bath;
ó
Wearing new dress;
ó
Recite Ziarat-e-Ameer-ul-momeneen Ali (A.S) (three
ziaraat of this day have been reported. One of them is
Ziarat AMEEN-ULLAH);
ó
Offer two rakaat prayer before half on hour to
Zawaal time, because it was the time when Holy Prophet
Muhammad appointed Ali (A.S) His (P.b.U.H and His Aal)
Successor, in each rakat after recitation of sura Hamd
following suras should be recited:
Sura Ikhlass
---- 10 times
Aayatul Kursi
---- 10 times.
And sura Qadr
----- 10 times.
This prayer,
which is equal to one Lakh pilgrimages (Hajj) one lakh
off-seasonal pilgrimages (Umraas) in reward, is also a
source of fulfillment of all needs in this world and
hereafter;
ó
Recite Dua’a-e-Nudba;
ó
And express greatings in these words:
“Praise
is for Allah who has made me from among those who are
stick fast he walayat-e-Ameer-ul-momeneen and Aaimmah (A.S).”
This was the
same day when Prophet Moses (A.S) defeated the magicians
and appointed Yousha-bin-Noon his wasi while Christ
(Prophet Esa (A.S)) to shamoon. Nimrod’s pyre (lighted
in bid to burn Abraham (A.S)became cool and safe for
Prophet Abraham(A.S). In this day Holy Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H
and His Aal) connected relation of akhuwwat among His
companions.
24th
of this month is a glorious and blessed day and momeneen
celaberate it as Eid-e-Mubahala it is the day when
after revelation of aayah-e-mubahala
“To
those that dispute with you concerning Esa after the
knowledge you have received, say:” come, let us gather
our sons and your sons, our ladies and your ladies, our selves (nafs) and yourselves (nafs). Then we will pray
together and call down the curse of Allah on every Iiar”.
Holy Prophet
put on his Abaa over his shoulders and took Hazrat Imam
Hasan, Imam Hussain, Hazrat Fatima-tuz-Zahra and Hazrat
Ali (A.S) in the place of sons, ladies and selves (nafs)
with him (P.b.U.H and His Aal) and said to Allah: “O
God! These are my Ahle bait, place uncleanness far from
them and keep them purified as they deserve”. At that
time Angle Gabriel came with Aaya-e-Tatheer, revealed in
their (A.S) respect:
“Allah
only wishes to place uncleaness far from you Ahle bait and
keep you purified.”
And when Holy
Prophet along with those four Holy Personalities reached
the place which was fixed for mubahala (mutual imprecation
to prove truth of one’s point) Nasaara-e-Najraan saw
their (Muhammad, Ali, Fatima, Hasan, Hussain) Noorani
faces, a priest among them said to his people: “By God I
am seeing such holy faces who if pray to get back mountain
from its place, it will leave its place. So don’t do
mubahala to them as this deed of yours would perish
you.” Then they couldn’t dare for Mubahala.
This
was same day when Hazrat Ali (A.S) gave his (A.S) ring in
charity to a beggar while he was in the state of
kneeling down (Raku) in prayer and at that time aaya:
“Your
only masters, supporters and protectors are Allah, His
Apostle and those faithfuls who attend to their prayers
and give zakat (charity) while they are in the state of
kneeling down (Raku)”.
Was
revealed in his (A.S) praise and respect.
Following
are some aamaal of this day:
ó
Take bath and wearing new dress;
ó
Keep fast;
ó
Offering two rakaat prayer, in each rakat after
sura Hamd following suras should be recited: Sura Ikhlass
----- 10 times.
Auatul Kursi
from

times and sura Qadr --- 10 times;
ó
To give charity to needy and poors;
ó
Recitation of Ziarat-e-Jamia.
TNFJ observes 18 Zilhajj to 24th Zilhajj
as Hafta-e-Walayat (Walayat Week).
Sura Hal Ataa (Sura Daher)
was revealed in respect and praise of Ahle-Bait (A.S) on
25 Zilhajj when Ahle bait-e-Rasool kept fast for
three days and gave food for Iftaar to the poor man, the
orphan and captive and broke their (A.S) fast with water
saying that “we feed you for Allah’s sake only; we
seek of you neither recompense nor thanks.
